HOW TO STEAL A GIRL AWAY FROM HER BOYFRIEND

If the girl you like has a boyfriend and you still want her, you really need to be thorough.

After all, if she has a boyfriend, you really do need to steal a girl from her guy and you can’t do that without all the details.

So in this part, I’m going to tell you the five not-so-obvious moves and the five sneaky dirty things you can do to steal a girlfriend from right under her guy’s

Undercover moves – Five not-so-obvious signs

Here, we play safe and keep it simple. We don’t really want to scare her away just because she has a boyfriend. Make her like you first, lover boy.

Get to know everything she can tell

This is important if she has a boyfriend. Once you’re friends with her, you need to become something more than that.

So talk about her favorite dates, her kind of movies, the little annoying stuff she’s done, and everything else.

Just to warm her up, you start off by narrating the time you ripped your pants off while trying to jump into a girl’s house. Just as long as you open up, she will too, and you know what, she’s going to love talking to you! [Read: How to date a girl by making her laugh]

Are you better than him?

The test of manliness. Talk about her guy. Pop the question. Ask her what kind of a guy he is. If you’re getting into her good books, she will keep it simple. Then ask her what she thinks of you.

Compare both the scores out aloud. Laugh and talk about what you can do to tilt the balance in your favor. And then get back to talking about how they met, and more blah, blah and blah about her guy.

Make her love you!

She’s in love with her man, but that could change. Impress her, be a man around her. Give her the space when she meets her pals or is on the phone when both of you are together, so she can be comfortable when you’re around.

Remember her special days, her deadlines, and anything else, even if it is really trivial. Show her that even her little things are really important to you. And wait for the good times.

Be her other guy

Now get this straight, you be her other guy, not her back-up guy. If you find that she’s just using you as her Man Friday when he’s not around, walk out.

She should respect you and want you. Don’t go trailing her at every opportunity you get. If you really want to steal a girlfriend, you need to keep it slow, and talk to her once in a while, at least once a day if you work at the same place, or alternate days or less if it’s over the phone. Let her miss you when you aren’t around. Drive her to work if you can, give her the attention, and basically, trher like a princess when you’re together.

Give her what her guy can’t give

Pamper her. You may not be around her all the time, and her guy may be. But that doesn’t matter. Because your one hour around her can do more damage to him than all day.

Talk and be genuinely interested in her. If you get a call when she’s with you, see if you can cancel and call back, and let her see that. She should know how special the times both of you share is to you. And more than anything else, maintain intense eye contact with her when both of you talk. Make her feel like she’s the only thing in the world you care about when you’re with her.

The Five Sneaky Lil’ Signs – Getting down and dirty

Dig all info

She has a boyfriend already. And there may be a few things she knows but she won’t tell. And any info about her is good info. That’s where her pals come into the picture. If you know them in the first place, then go on and ask a few things about her. But very discreetly, of course.

You don’t want them to know you’re hitting on her. And admit it, if you do like her, you’re definitely going to want to talk about her.

The annoying mo-fo, her boyfriend

Find out more about her guy from any source you can get. There may always be a few skeletons that could be dug out here. So he doesn’t believe in holding doors open for a woman? The next time you talk to her, tell her the story about a man who doesn’t open doors for women, and how annoying that is.

See, that’s like letting her know her guy isn’t all that great, without actually talking about him. On the other hand, talk about how much you live by the code of chivalry. Discreetly, of course! [Read: How to be a perfectly chivalrous man]

“Bump” into her

So you know things about her. Good. Does she hang out on weekends at a particular place? Did her friends tell you that? Excellent. As long as she hasn’t told you that, and you’ve figured it out yourself, go for the kill.

Accidentally bump into her at the same place, and pretend like your “surprise” meeting is a damn sign from heaven that you guys have to be together. Ask her out to coffee or lunch. You know, these occasional bumping scenarios could actually take you somewhere.

Who’s that guy?

Remember, for you, her boyfriend is of no value. So treat him like one. Unless you know him on first-name basis, refer to him as ‘your boyfriend’ when you talk to her. She may talk about how much she loves him, and blah, but it doesn’t matter. And at times, when she goes on and on about him, yawn pointedly and make sure she knows it’s a fake yawn. But do make sure you laugh after you do that, you’d want to make it seem like a joke instead of a rude gesture. [Read: The best way to talk to a girl you like]

Same workspace

Sometimes, we end up liking a girl in the same workspace. And to make things worse, her boyfriend could work there too. So when you’re talking to her once in a while, there’s a fair chance that he’d end up joining the conversation too. Don’t lose your enthusiasm here, but stay away from flirty comments. But the second he walks away, thank your lucky starts loudly and get back to your flirty talk.

A line that goes like, “Thank you God, at last, I can get a few minutes with this beautiful girl without her boyfriend around!” not only gets the point across, but also sounds humorous.

She has a boyfriend and you really want to know how to steal a girlfriend. Follow these tips and she’ll fall in love with you even before you ask her out. This secret art is still incomplete, so click here to find out

HOW TO KNOW IF YOUR GIRLFRIEND IS CHEATING ON YOU

1. She doesn’t want you to know her associations, see her emails or her phone.
2. Don’t just randomly ask her, “Hey, you wouldn’t happen to be cheating on me, would you?” She’s going to say no anyway and she’ll think you don’t trust her.
3. Nothing you can do will dictate her actions. Sometimes, there is simply nothing you can do but walk away. Never, ever, dismiss this as an option or you will not get anywhere.
4. If she is making excuses not to spend time with you but is going the extra mile to hang out with her so-called friends, it’s likely that she doesn’t want to be with you anymore.
5. If she talks (texts) another guy more than she texts your or when you are out doing something, it’s a good sign she might be cheating.
6. If she can’t look you in your face while you two are talking, that might mean she is cheating on you.
7. If your girlfriend begins to start acting differently with the way she speaks to you and the way she acts when you are not around that could be a sign.
You can obviously tell if your girlfriend is cheating on you if she doesn’t have the time to be with you anymore. It almost seems as if she has plans without you.
She will make all kinds of excuses to make you feel bad and the ease of getting away from cheating.
8. If your girlfriend is coming home at extremely late hours after long periods of absence, this may be a sign that she is having an affair.
9. If your girlfriend acting more sweetly with you that’s also a sign.
Girls are allowed to have guy friends. And they are generally more physical with friends, regardless of gender, so don’t assume she’s cheating if you see her hug another guy.
10. If she’s always on the phone or you often get a busy signal while calling her, this could be a sign of her cheating.

7 WAYS TO GAIN BACK YOUR BOYFRIEND OR GIRLFRIEND’S TRUST AFTER YOU’VE CHEATED ON THEM

1. DON’T PASS THE BLAME

While you might be tempted to blame the girl or guy that you cheated with, one of the surefire ways to gain your partner’s trust back after you’ve cheated is to not pass the buck. You’ve got to own up to what you did and you’ve really got to know how badly it’s hurt them. You can’t simply say that it was because you were too tempted because then, what will happen the next time? Just own it.

2. ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR MISTAKE

Owning your mistake and understanding that cheating is a horrible thing to do is a great start – but how can your partner trust that you are never going to do it again? They can’t. That’s why you’ve got to start at the very, very bottom of the barrel. You’ve got to build that trust back from the bottom and get it all the way back to the top. That starts with not passing the blame – and by acknowledging that you were in the wrong.

3. DON’T FORCE FORGIVENESS

Oh girls and guys, forcing anything onto your partner after you’ve cheated is a bad, bad idea. This is especially true when it comes to forgiving you. This is a personal choice, they have to decide a., if they can forgive you at all and b., if they can actually trust you again. Don’t force the forgiveness or get mad at how long it takes them to forgive you.

4. CREATE AN ACTION PLAN

You’ve got some work to do if you were the one that cheated, which means that you’ve got to figure out exactly why you cheated and you’ve got to come up with an action plan. This means that you’ve got to really figure out what made you cheat. Was it your partner themselves? Was it something in the relationship that is lacking? Getting professional help might be a good idea, especially if your partner insists.

5. DON’T PUT YOURSELF IN SUSPICIOUS SITUATIONS

If your partner does decide to give you a second chance, you cannot screw it up by allowing yourself to be put in sticky and suspicious situations. Working late all of the time? Call your partner from the office. Are you being texted by a random boy or girl? Give your partner the phone number. I am not saying that you need to be controlled by your partner, but they need to learn to trust you again and that’s hard.

6. LEARN TO UNDERSTAND YOUR PARTNER

Understanding exactly how your mate feels is difficult, especially if you are the cheater and you’ve never been cheated on. You have to give them time to get over it if they are going to get over it, and you’ve got to give them time to really explore how they feel. That can take a lot of time, just know that.

7. BE SENSITIVE TO YOUR PARTNER’S FEELINGS

Finally, you’ve got to be sensitive to how they are feeling. You don’t ever want to force how sorry you are and how you’ll never do it again – at least not before they are ready to hear it. Once they are ready to hear it, then you can start apologizing.

So girls and guys, I do not think that it is completely over after cheating, but if you are the cheater, you’ve got to really start from the bottom and work up. Have you ever been cheated on?

Chelsea sign Eto'o from Anzhi

Chelsea have signed Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o on a free transfer from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.
The 32-year-old joins the Premier League team on a one-year-deal.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was Eto'o's boss at Inter Milan when they won the Champions League in 2010.
Eto'o's club honours

Real Mallorca (1999-2004): Copa del Rey (2003). Scored 69 goals in 165 appearances.

Barcelona (2004-2009): Champions League (2006, 2009); La Liga (2005, 2006, 2009); Copa del Rey (2009); Spanish Super Cup (2006, 2007). Scored 129 goals in 201 appearances.

Inter Milan (2009-2011): Champions League (2010); Serie A (2009); Coppa Italia (2010, 2011), Italian Super Cup (2010); Fifa World Club Cup (2010). Scored 53 goals in 101 appearances.

Anzhi Makhachkala (2011-2013): Scored 36 goals in 71 appearances.

"It wasn't a hard decision. I saw the qualities Chelsea have, and I was very happy with Jose Mourinho before, so when the opportunity came, I was very happy to take it," Eto'o said.
"I am very happy to be here but also anxious because I want to get playing as soon as possible."
Mourinho moved for Eto'o after two Chelsea bids for Manchester United's Wayne Rooney were rejected.
Earlier this week, it emerged Rooney was not prepared to force a move by handing in a formal transfer request, effectively ending the Blues's hopes of signing the England striker.
Four-time African Footballer of the Year Eto'o was a key part of Mourinho's Champions League-winning Inter side, and became the highest-paid player in the world when he moved to Anzhi in 2011.
The Russian club have also sold Brazil attacking midfielder Willian, 25, to Chelsea after their billionaire owner Suleyman Kerimov decided to significantly reduce the club's budget.
Eto'o started his career at Real Madrid but was loaned out to Leganes and Real Mallorca before making a permanent move to Mallorca in 1999.
The striker, part of the Cameroon team that lifted the African Nations Cup in 2002, won the Copa del Rey before joining Barcelona in 2004 .
During his time at the Nou Camp, he won the Champions League twice - in 2006 and 2009 - scoring in both finals, as well as winning the Spanish league three times.
In 2009, Barcelona paid Inter Milan £40m plus Eto'o for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the striker went on to win the Champions League again in his first season under Mourinho at the San Siro.
He joined Anzhi, where he reportedly earned £167,825 a week, in 2011

Ribery beats Messi and Ronaldo to UEFA prize

Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery has won UEFA's Best Player in Europe award for 2012/13, ahead of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo

The Frenchman was rewarded for an exceptional campaign in which he played a leading role as Bayern claimed a treble of Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League.

He was elected by a panel of journalists, who voted live at the Champions League draw in Monte Carlo.

Ribery got the nod ahead of four-times Ballon d'Or winner Messi, who paid the price for Barcelona's 7-0 Champions League semi-final pummelling at Bayern's hands.

Perhaps in a sign that he was unlikely to triumph, Real Madrid star Ronaldo chose not to attend the ceremony.

Arsenal drawn with Dortmund, Napoli and Marseille
Barcelona, Milan and Ajax to face off in same group
Chelsea will be pleased as they face teams they have beaten in Europe recently, while Manchester City could have done considerably worse. Though they face the champions Bayern, they should be able to beat CSKA Moscow and Viktoria Plzen. Should.

Manchester United, though, have a potentially tough draw - Shakhtar Donetsk, Bayer Leverkusen and Real Sociedad are all very, very tricky. But Arsenal have the toughest: Napoli (facing Higuain and Rafa Benitez), Marseille and last year's runners-up Dortmund?

The UEFA champions league and the UEFA europa league draw will be held tomorrow in Monaco.

The draw will take place after the completion of the Champions league play off on thursday night. The draw will take place by 4:30 GMT tomorrow friday August 29 in Monaco. The European player of the year is also expected to be announced which Cristaino Ronaldo, Frank Ribery and Lionel Messi are the Three players that make the final shortlist.
Below is the official pots for the draw.

Barcelona won spanish super cup

FC Barcelona won the 2013 Spanish Super Cup this evening at the Camp Nou, thank to an away goals in 1-1 draw at atlethico madrid last week. The 0-0 scoreline this Wednesday in Barcelona, after the 1-1 from the first leg at the Vicente Calderón, means that Tata Martino and Neymar Jr are champions for the first time with their new Club. Despite the lack of goals, the Camp Nou witnessed an intense match as the Blaugrana attempted to knock down the defensive wall erected by Atletico.

The match, which featured on-pitch battles all of the field, ended in a goalless draw thanks to two fantastic saves from Valdés and because Messi missed a penalty kick after Atletico had been reduced to 10 men when Filipe Luis was sent off for elbowing Dani Alves.
The match started with Barça surging forward toward Atletico’s goal. Dominant in possession, the Blaugrana comfortably controlled three quarters of the pitch. That’s where Simeone’s men were waiting, dug in and adopting the same approach they had last week: excellently organised on defence, keen to commit fouls to interrupt Barça’s flow, and looking to strike quickly once possession was recovered. After 30 minutes, a through ball from Busquets wasn’t taken advantage of by Messi when the Argentine’s attempt was blocked by a lunging Filipe Luis. Simeone’s men had yet to cross into Barça territory.

The match heated up as time ticked off the clock. The visiting team continued to commit fouls without much punishment from the referee: only Koke was booked in the first half, to Barça’s Cesc and Busquets (Tata’s men had committed 6 fouls to Atletico’s 12).

The Blaugrana, who still dominated possession, watched as Atletico created one of the best chances of the match when Arda shot from inside the area. Víctor Valdés reacted immediately and pulled out a massive save to keep the visiting side off the board. The title was still up for grabs at the break.

The tempo of the second half was very different from what the fans saw in the first 45 minutes. In the first half the battle for the match was in the midfield, in the second players from both sides buzzed around their opponent’s area whenever they had possession. The box-to-box pace of the match nearly saw Atlético take the lead if it hadn’t have been for Valdés, who pulled out another great save to deny David Villa.

Martino brought in Pedro and Iniesta for Alexis and Cesc and Barça slowly regained control. Atletico, in dire need of a goal, lost the plot in the final minutes of the match when Filipe Luis was shown a straight red for elbowing Dani Alves and Arda was sent to the dressing room with another red after he had been subbed off by Simeone.

Godín stamped on Dani Alves’ back, an infraction that wasn’t penalised, and Pedro won a penalty which was missed by Messi. Despite the error, Barça went on to
win the title. Tata Martino and his men claimed the first title of the season, the Spanish Super Cup.

Roma confirmed Lamela to jion Tottenham

Italian club Roma claim Argentine forward Erik Lamela is to join Tottenham for £25.7m (30m euros).

The deal for Lamela, 21, also includes up to £4.2m (5m euros) in bonus payments, taking the club's spending to nearly £85m this summer.
The sale could finally enable Gareth Bale's move to Real Madrid to go ahead for a world record fee of £86m.
Spurs are also working on a deal to sign Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, 21, from Dutch side Ajax.
There is no agreement in place yet and the player would still need to undergo a medical and agree terms.
But Ajax have confirmed that they have given Tottenham permission to talk to the highly rated international.
Ajax boss Frank de Boer told BBC Sport: "There is a snowball effect happening with the Gareth Bale transfer.
"For us, Christian is a key player, so if he leaves before 2 September it is a big setback for the team.
"But there is not a lot we can do. We cannot stop him leaving. He knows how we think about it - he has only one year of his contract left so he has to leave now or sign for another year more with us.
"It is his choice. When the clubs have agreed the transfer, it is for him [to decide] whether he is going to do it or not."
Tottenham's former Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen, who moved to White Hart Lane from the Dutch club for £12m last summer, is a close friend of Eriksen and could be a factor in whether he moves to the London club or not.
Tottenham have already signed Roberto Soldado (£26m), Paulinho (£17m), Etienne Capoue (£9m) and Nacer Chadli (£7m).
The London club are just £2m short of spending as much as Manchester City, who are the Premier League's biggest investors during the current transfer window, recruiting four players for nearly £87m.
Lamela's impending arrival at White Hart Lane could mean that Bale finally completes his switch to Real Madrid.
Tottenham were not ready to let the 24-year-old Welshman leave until they had signed a replacement.
They thought they had signed Willian, but the Brazilian chose to join Chelsea in a £30m deal.
Roma, meanwhile, have announced that they have signed Fiorentina forward Adem Ljajic for £9.4m (11m euros).
The 21-year-old Serbian his said to have signed a  signed a four-year deal

willian completes chelsea move

Willian has completed his £32million move to Chelsea after being granted a work permit.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho gave evidence on the Brazilian’s behalf for his hearing today. The 25-year-old had a medical at Stamford Bridge at the weekend. The Blues hijacked Tottenham’s bid to sign Willian from Anzhi Makhachkala last week.

Speaking on the Chelsea club website, Willian, who has signed a five-year deal at the club, said: 'I'm very happy to be here, it's been a dream of mine to come and play here.'
He added: 'Chelsea are one of the best clubs in the world, and now I'm going to play for one of the best managers in the world, so I'm very happy and looking forward to it.'

Willian will wear the No 22 shirt.

Willian is not in the Super Cup squad - Chelsea face Bayern Munich in Prague on Friday night - so will have to wait until after the international break to make his debut. Chelsea's next fixture after Friday is their away trip to Everton on September 14.

When asked about Willian's decision to join Chelsea ahead of Tottenham Jose Mourinho was coy last week.

‘I think he already made his decision,’ said the Portuguese manager.

And has he chosen Chelsea? Mourinho gave a very slow and deliberate nod.

Then he said: ‘I don’t like to speak before time because football can be crazy. Sometimes it looks like he has but he hasn’t. But I know what the player wants, so we cannot hide.

NANS propose protest to end ASUU strike

National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, plans to hold a nation-wide protest as a last resort to force the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to end the protracted strike of university lecturers.

NANS’ President, Yinka Gbadebo, responding to allegations that the students’ body was not bothered by the 60-day-old strike, said the union had been employing other matured approaches to appeal to both the government and ASUU.

According to him, “NANS is not relaxed but we have decided to take approaches that don’t require us to make noise. We have been meeting with executive members of ASUU, the Nigerian Universities Commission, Minister of Education and the FG.

“We have also written to meet with the universities NEEDS Implementation Committee chairman and Governor of Benue State, Mr. Gabriel Suswan. If we don’t receive any response by the end of the week, we would issue an ultimatum and take it up from there.

“I have been consulting with all SUG leaders in the affected schools so that we would speak with one voice. Going to the streets would be our last option but we would do so to protest how long this strike has lingered.”

Ttiwa Savage to get married in November

Tiwa Savage's engagement ceremony to her fiancé and manager Tunji 'T-Billz' Balogun will be held in November, followed by a white wedding in the Maldives in early 2014.

bangshowbiz.com
Tiwa Savage is getting married in three months time.
Nigerian Entertainment Today has confirmed that Tiwa will be tying the knot with her fiancé and manager Tunji 'T-Billz' Balogun starting with an engagement ceremony on November 23, 2013 which will be followed by a white wedding which is expected to hold in early 2014 on the island nation of Maldives.
The couple are yet to make an official statement on this but has already kicked off plans for what is expected to be the biggest wedding in the latter part of this year.
Maldives, officially known as the Republic of the Maldives and also referred to as the Maldive Islands, is an island nation in the Indian Ocean with a population of less than 400,000 people.
Already, Tiwa in the company of her friend, Beth Models CEO, Elohor Aisien travelled to the Maldives in July. Apparently, reports have it that the ladies went to pick out venues and plan other wedding details.
Sort of reminds us of when Annie Idibia initially travelled to Dubai to pick a venue for her star-studded wedding to 2face Idibia back in February.
Then Tiwa gave the world a much stronger hint when she posted a photo of her and Tunji (while at D'banj's sister's wedding) with the caption 'Baby we're next'. The pair for a long time had been rumoured and reported to have been dating.
While this of course was true, it was only known as 'industry news'.
Tiwa and her publicist often denied the relationship.
But on January 24, 2013, things got a bit clearer when the pair travelled to Dubai for a holiday getaway at the Burj Al Arab Hotel, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The couple spent a week only to return to Lagos for Tunji to make a formal proposal on February 5, 2013 which coincidentally was Tiwa's birthday.
''The power to deny their relationship grows weaker by the day, they are really in love with each other'', a source close to the couple told NET.
''Now that they have announced their status to everyone, the tension will cease.''
It truly did cease as the couple made yet another red carpet moment for the photographers at Tiwa's album listening party in late May 2013, this time not bothered by any subsequent report.
Efforts to get both Tiwa and her man, T-Billz to reveal further details of the proposed wedding have not been fruitful.
Tunji has played a very instrumental role in Tiwa's life and music career; the couple met in the US in 2009.
Tunji who had listened to one of Tiwa's demo earlier met up with the singer with the latter taking up interest in her music.
Tunji and Tiwa decided to change the direction of her music to fit the Nigerian sound as they planned a comeback - the result of that was her Nigerian debut single, the smash hit 'Kele kele love'.
Friends of the couple say Tunji (who had already gained experience working as Sauce Kid's manager under QBeatz shortly before) was a strong pillar behind Tiwa and instrumental to her success.
Tunji reportedly has two children from a past relationship.

Messi fit to play against athletico madrid

The Argentine has been named to the team ahead of tomorrow's match against Atlético Madridn.
Leo Messi has successfully recovered from the postcontusional intramuscular hematoma injury in his left thigh and thus was given medical clearance to play against Atlético Madrid on Wednesday. However, Adriano Correia did not recover in time to make tomorrow’s match.

In addition to the Brazilian right back, Gerardo Martino also confirmed the absences of Oier and Jonathan Dos Santos against Atlético – neither player was named to the squad. Martín Montoya was named to the team, but it should be noted that the manager must cut one player before kick off tomorrow.

The team trained at the Camp Nou before the list of players named to the squad was revealed. The players trained in their official FC Barcelona home kits seeing that the Qatar Airways partnership was presented at the stadium just prior to the session. Before the session kicked off, Sergio Busquets was congratulated by his team-mates for renewing his contract with the Club.

It’s worth noting that FC Barcelona will complete one final session before tomorrow’s match. It’s scheduled for 12.30 at the Camp Nou.

Liverpool seal round three qualification of capital one cup

Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson spared Liverpool's blushes with extra-time goals in a Capital One Cup second-round win over Notts County on Tuesday.

In-form striker Sturridge netted his second of the game in the 105th minute before his midfield team-mate sealed the Premier League outfit's progress to round three five minutes later by making it 4-2 with a cool finish.

Those goals came after second-half strikes from Yoann Arquin and Adam Coombes had brought their spirited League One visitors level, following Raheem Sterling's early opener and Sturridge's first before the break.

MATCH VIEW

By David Lynch at Anfield

"Liverpool fans would have expected an easy ride in the second half, with their side cruising at 2-0 up, but the admirable Notts County comeback brought them a rather unwanted extra 30 minutes ahead of Sunday's meeting with Manchester United.

"They may have eventually pulled through to seal their place in the next round but injuries to Kolo Toure, Joe Allen and Aly Cissokho represent the true cost of Tuesday's action."
Brendan Rodgers named a strong team despite the prospect of a Premier League fixture against Manchester United on Sunday, with captain Steven Gerrard and Sturridge both starting along with the likes of Glen Johnson and Kolo Toure.

Meanwhile, Notts County boss Chris Kiwomya made two changes to the team that lost to Stevenage on Saturday, with Jamal Campbell-Ryce and Aston Villa loanee Enda Stevens coming into the side.

Liverpool unsurprisingly dominated the early stages and were ahead after just four minutes through Sterling. The 18-year-old winger collected a pass from Johnson 30 yards from goal and jinked past two defenders before firing low past Bartosz Bialkowski.

Rodgers's men continued to control proceedings and substitute Daniel Agger - who had replaced the injured Aly Cissokho early on - hit the inside of the post after glancing Gerrard's set-piece delivery goalwards on 19 minutes.

Sturridge's movement was causing all sorts of problems for the Notts County back line and the 23-year-old was rewarded with his third goal of the season and his ninth in his last eight appearances after 29 minutes with a clinical finish. Gerrard was again the architect as he guided a perfect pass to the striker, who took one touch before firing past the helpless Bialkowski into the top corner.

The Liverpool skipper himself then almost added a third four minutes before the interval, lashing a left-footed shot off the post after Sterling had found him with a well-weighted pa

However, Kiwomya's side responded admirably after the interval and their spell of pressure paid dividends around the hour mark when Arquin pulled one back. Manny Smith rose unmarked to head a free kick back across goal and the Martinique international beat Toure and Andre Wisdom to power a header home.

Liverpool then hit the woodwork for a third time as Toure met another Gerrard delivery but he could only strike the post when it looked easier to score and the home side were made to pay for their profligacy when Coombes equalised - netting his first senior goal - after good work from Arquin to force extra time.

County began the additional 30 minutes the brighter of the two sides and their chances were boosted further when Toure was carried off with a groin injury, leaving Liverpool with 10 men as Rodgers had already made all three substitutions.

Nevertheless, Sturridge then found the net against the run of play, latching on to substitute Philippe Coutinho's pass as a poor effort from Bialkowski failed to prevent his shot from dribbling over the line.

Shortly after half-time in extra time, Henderson - who had come on for the injured Joe Allen - burst through from midfield before nutmegging Gary Liddle and side-footing home to round the scoring out.

Arsenal secure champions league qualificaion

Arsenal dominated possession in the first half and Ramsey was on hand to tap home from six yards in the 25th minute. Theo Walcott then hit the crossbar from a free kick before the Welshman's volley made it 2-0.

Boss Arsene Wenger made two changes to the side who beat Fulham 3-1 on Saturday, with Jack Wilshere and Nacho Monreal replacing Tomas Rosicky and Kieran Gibbs. Fenerbahce, meanwhile, included former Liverpool players Raul Meireles and Dirk Kuyt.

Arsenal dominated the early possession but they almost conceded a goal in unusual circumstances. A scramble in the box led to Bacary Sagna clearing his effort straight against Meireles, with the ricochet drawing a smart save from Wojciech Szczesny.

The home side then fashioned their first chance with a swift counterattack. Santi Cazorla burst through two challenges and laid the ball to Wilshere, whose pass found Olivier Giroud, but the Frenchman curled his effort wide from 20 yards.

The Gunners continued to probe and their pressure finally yielded a breakthrough in the 25th minute. Gokhan Gonul tried to prevent Lukas Podolski's through-ball from finding Walcott but his sliding challenge went straight to Ramsey, who swept the ball home.

Giroud then came close to doubling the advantage seven minutes later when his shot from a narrow angle forced Volkan Demirel into a smart save with his legs.
Fenerbahce almost caught Arsenal out when Emmanuel Emenike broke free on the left and unleashed a fierce drive that Szczesny pushed against the post before Giroud found himself in space, only to fire over from six yards after an excellent low cross from Cazorla.

Podolski was withdrawn from the action a minute into the second half when he pulled up with what looked like a hamstring injury. His removal temporarily stunted Arsenal's momentum and Egemen Korkmaz linked well with Emenike for the visitors before crashing an effort off the crossbar, although he would have been denied by the offside flag.

Cazorla almost grabbed the second for Arsenal in the 63rd minute before Walcott dipped a free kick against the crossbar.

But, with 18 minutes left, they wrapped up the win when Gibbs broke free before crossing for Ramsey to volley into the corner.

Arsenal were given a late scare when Wilshere went down holding his ankle after a robust challenge from Meireles but he recovered to finish the game.

ASSU:strike will continue

Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Monday, rejected the N130 billion the Federal Government disbursed into the university system, as part of efforts to persuade striking lecturers to call off  the strike action they embarked on July 2.

In a letter written to Head of National Economic Empowerment Development Strategy, NEEDs Assessment, and Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswan, by President of ASUU, Dr. Nasir Isa Fagge.

The union insisted that based on the 2009 ASUU/FGN agreement and the January 2012 Memoranda of Understanding, MoU, signed by both parties, what was due for 2012 and 2013 was N500 billion, not N100 billion.

The letter read: “We observe that the Committee is so far mentioning only N100 billion. If the implementation is to be related to the funding requirements in the 2009 ASUU/FGN agreement and the Jan 2012 MoU, what is due for 2012 and 2013 is N500 billion not N100 billion. Only the provision of this sum will meet the immediate needs of the universities.

“Our Union is very apprehensive of the manner in which the sources of the initial N100 billion to be used for the stimulation of the process are shrouded in secrecy. We believe that monies that already belong to the university system should not be blocked and recycled. This will not only be counter-productive but will brew even deeper crises in the system. ASUU will not accept this.

“We are also concerned that a clear procedure or process for assessing the funds by the universities is yet to be defined. This concern is even more germane given the statement of the Chairman of the Committee (during the last meeting on Monday, August 19, 2013) that the committee is taking some documents to the Due Process Office.

“We hasten to add that while due process must be followed, it is the sole responsibility of benefitting universities to respect all the provisions of the Procurement Act. The meaning of your Committee going to the Due Process Office is that it is the one that will be responsible for awarding contracts.

“We want to make it clear that this will never be acceptable to our Union. We believe that monies meant to fund projects in universities should be sent to the universities just as it is the practice with TETFund”,

The union condemned allocation of construction of 2,500 bed space hostel for N1billion, instead of 3,000 bed space for N1.2 billion.

“We are worried that instead of allocating N1.2 billion each to construct 3,000 bed space hostels to the 10 Category 1 universities, N1.0 billion for 2,500 bed space hostel to the 16 Category 2 universities, N500 million to construct 1,250 bed space hostels in the 12 Category 3 universities and N250 million each to construct 625 bed space hostels in the 13 Category 4 universities, the secretariat has changed that to constructing 1,400 bed space hostels in 25 universities at the cost of N2 billion each. We see no rationale in this.

“Expending N50 billion to construct 35,000 bed space hostels across 25 universities will be ridiculously scandalous since the same amount can be used to construct 125,000 bed space hostels across 51 universities. The standard cost of building a bed space ranges from N200,000.00 to a maximum of N400,000.00.

“This is even more worrisome given the tangential suggestions made by the chairman that only monies for refurbishment will be sent to universities while the rest will be handled centrally,” the union said.

The union also condemned the exclusion of 22 universities from the allocation for refurbishment of laboratories and libraries and three universities from the allocation for refurbishment of lecture theatres and lecture rooms.

According to ASUU, 24 universities are denied allocation for construction of libraries and laboratories, while two are denied allocation for construction of new lecture theatres and lecture rooms. 26 universities are denied allocation for construction of hostel.

Goal line technology used in Arsenal's match against Aston Villa

Fabian Delph's shot came off the post and rolled along the line, prompting Anthony Taylor to use newly introduced Hawk-eye system for the first time on the opening day of the season.
The midfielder beat goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny but saw his long-range effort strike the inside of the right-hand post and roll across the line.

And the Hawk-Eye Goal Decision System - which was used for the first time in English football during the Community Shield last Sunday - came into play.
Television replays shown in the press box confirmed that referee Anthony Taylor had been notified that the ball did not cross the line at any point.

Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore believes the GDS system will improve the Premier League this season, after revealing there were 31 occasions that could have benefited from it last term.

The Premier League is the first football division in the world to introduce the system but Franz Beckenbauer has called for the German Football League (DFL) to follow after Hoffenheim were controversially denied a goal during their 2-2 draw with Nurnberg in the Bundesliga last Saturday.

ASUU STRIKE: FG AND THE UNION FAIL TO AGREE ON CONTENTIOUS ISSUES

The hope for the re-opening of universities in the shortest possible time was dashed Thursday after the Federal Government constituted committee chaired by the Benue State Governor, Hon. Gabriel Suswan in a meeting with the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, failed to agree on the contentious issues.

There were expectations that ASUU could call off the strike after the meeting as the National President of the union Dr. Nasir Fagge had previously said that calling off the strike was dependent upon what the Federal government would place on the table in respect of the implementation of the 2009 agreement.

Speaking on the outcome of the meeting, Dr. Fagge said, “Well it was inaugural meeting, so naturally nothing much was achieved. It is just that the chairman (Governor Gabriel Suswan) told us how he wants to carry out the assignment.

“And then he said that he thinks we should have a sub-committee that will liaise with TETFund and National Planning Commission to get more information on the technical report that was submitted by the Needs Assessment Committee and on the basis of that, projects will be identified and will now look for the funding,” he said.

“There is no change any way because the meeting today is just considering one aspect of the agreement, which is funding. So what we did today was to have an inaugural meeting on funding and our members nation wide said nothing short of implementation of all aspects of the agreement will make them call off the strike, so like I said whatever meeting we are invited, we will go and give our members information”.

"The Catholic Faith Is Boring And Old Fashioned" - Charly Boy

The first 20yrs of my life, I seriously had this dream of being a priest. I was overfed with an overdose of religion which has always been a very serious business in my family. You dare not be late for morning mass or else you get the whipping of your life, yes my father was that strict, no nonsense when it came to going to church or anything spiritual. That's where I'm coming from, we were a family that prayed together and were very staunch Catholics for that matter.
When I turned 16 I became an altar boy, at that time that was the coolest thing to be, considering years of going to bible classes and regular confessions. Eight months into the spiritual things as an altar boy, I made a big goof; I drank the priests wine and ate a bunch of Holy Communion enough to fill me up. I figured I could be more spiritual by that action, but I got expelled as an altar boy, needless to say how scandalized and angry my father was then, OMG.
By the time I turned 20, I've had enough religion to last me two life times. By 1974, I left to further my studies in the USA, I was overjoyed because for the first time, I was going to be on my own. I was really carried away with my new found independence. Being an adventurous young man I started dabbling into not only the occult but with metaphysics, Buddhism, astrology, magic and all that Jazz. However, I still believe I was fundamentally a Catholic by birth, but the catholic fate has suddenly become boring and old fashion for me.
When I read that controversial book, "In God's Name", all the negativity I started to feel about the Catholic Church became magnified in my mind. What about the sex scandals about priests and little boys. Hummmmmmm! I am aware that the Catholic Church is not a perfect body, and doesn't claim to be one. Of course it is plagued with the same corruption, scandals and sin as any other organization. Last night as I was watching CNN, the Pope's visit to Brasil was being beamed to the world and all of a sudden, there it was, "who am I to judge as long as they walk in the light of Christ" Pope Francis on Gays.
As reflexes would have it, I jumped out of my seat and hugged my TV, funny ha ha. Not because homosexuality has been part of my advocacy through the years but because I feel that every adult has a right to make their bed and lie on it as they choose, and who the hell are we to judge. I have always said that it is really not our place to judge those who do not fit our view of normal. So once again the church is attempting to evolve in order to keep up with the rest of civilization. That is how a religion survives. Its belief has to be flexible enough to stay somewhat relevant to current or the public will abandon it.
Ever since the Pope's election, my man has taken actions that seem to be very 'unpopelike'. He even used public transport as a cardinal, he lives in a smaller quarter, he asked for blessing before blessing the crowd which gathered in St Peters square on the day of his election. But my people, what is stranger than Pope France's action have been evangelicals' reactions all over the world. Never before has a Pope become so widely accepted by Protestants and evangelicals. It's a proud day for Catholics and all mankind. Finally a Pope who doesn't see himself as equal to God, unlike our men of god down here. It is really amazing.
Every Pope in the Catholic Church's past has had a mastery over catholic rhetoric, because theoretically they always say the right things. But Pope Francis has decided to lead with his actions. Before delivering his message at the Holy Thursday Mass, Pope Francis spent time on his knees washing the feet of young women incarcerated at a nearby prison. This is the first time a Pope has ever washed the feet of women, not to mention that one of the women was a Muslim, which is another break in papal tradition. In the holy book, the bible calls us to be the light to the world if Christ is to be present to the world. This is why Pope Francis' way should be imitated for imitating him we make Christ visible and that is what influences others to walk in the way of Christ. So much to be said for our so called "men of god" in this neck of the woods who strut around as if they are God's gift to mankind, most of them bunch of con men and fraud stars who are continually ripping off unsuspecting Nigerians, living in fancy houses, building universities their congregation can't even afford for their children and buying private jets because their God is not a poor God, as Nija's hand over their pay checks in return for a miracle because they have bought into the Hocus-pocus that is Pentecostalism. Just look at our churches today, tell me those priest, pastors or our so called men of god, who makes Christ visible. Jesus needs us to make him Visible and present in this troubled world. Blessed mother Teresa is a perfect example of showing us the love and mercy of Christ in the millions she cared for. The gospel calls us to imitate Christ and it is in the way we live that the gospel of Jesus gets proclaimed, that is how we speak Christ to a world that does not know him.
I am very scared for this Pope, he is a little too Christ like for his own good. There are still some die hard winches, vampires in the Vatican. I fear assassination, probably by the very people who call themselves "devout". If any Pope can show us what Jesus was saying, I think this one is the one. At least I hope so. I am impressed with this Pope not for his Catholicism but for his Christianity. As I lay in the comfort of my room watching the Pope's visit to Brazil, it was clear to me that Pope Francis will go down in history as the greatest Pope ever, I just pray that he lives out his Pope ship for many years to come as to spread his light and make our lord Jesus more visible in the world. More than 3million people where at Copacabana beach for the re-enactment of the Stations of the Cross and farewell mass.
This world Youths Day smashed previous attendance records and goes down in the record books as one of the best attended papal events ever. In short, this Pope is a rock star. Here is a Pope who speaks the language of the people; In fact in Rio he kicked his penchant for simplicity, humility and accessibility into high gear. The security operatives were all overwhelmed by zealous pilgrims, he insisted on leaving the windows of his car down so he could extend his arm to those seeking his blessings. Countless babies kissed, photo ups with adoring faithfuls only added to the pontiff reputation for being a man of the people, and all of this took place in the roughest side of town, a crime ridden zone in Rio.
Pope Francis is now standing up to the Mafia. First the Vatican honoured Rev Giuseppe Puglisi, killed 20yrs ago by mobsters for preaching against the Mafia, as a martyr. Pope Francis himself demanded that Mafia members abandon their "evil ways" especially those who exploit their fellow humans via human trafficking, drug dealing and prostitution. "They cannot make our brothers slaves; let us pray that these Mafiosi convert to God". Hummmmm na wa, if the Mafia decides to take Pope Francis out in retaliation for his words against them, I pray that there's a Pope Francis army out there ready to throw down.
If the Pope manages to mobilize all of Italian society against the Mafia, his days maybe numbered, but he will be unable to do so, and as a result I pray that the Mafia won't remember him. They say the only thing needed for Evil to exist is for good men to do nothing. I am glad that he is doing something. He looks and sounds to me like he has a beautiful spiritual light burning inside of him and is preaching goodwill for all and trying to turn around the corrupt so they too can walk in the sunlight of the spirit. I really admire him for standing up to the Mafias. I recognize the Popes effort in trying to bring a better image and name to Christianity. Anyway you flip it, the Holy Father is full of surprises, born of true and faithful humility, at another occasion, he declared that all people, not just Catholics, are redeemed through Jesus, even atheists.
"Those people must still do good. In fact, it is in doing good that they are led to the one who is the source of all that is good" In essence he simply restated the hope of the church that all come to know God, through his son Jesus Christ. Pope Francis is saying more than ever before, that Christ offered himself as a sacrifice for everyone. That has always been a Christian belief, but rarely do you hear it said by Catholics so forcefully, and with such evident joy. And in this era of religious controversies, it is a timely reminder that God cannot be confined to our narrow categories. Thumbs up for my man Pope Francis, nothing do you.
