Ikpeba unveiled as Bet9ja Ambassador
Former Nigeria international Victor Ikpeba was unveiled as the Bet9ja Ambassador in Lagos yesterday.
Bet9ja is soon to become the biggest sports betting outfit in Nigeria, and according to the company's Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ayo Ojuroye, Ikpeba is a perfect fit for the role as ambassador due to his successful footballing career, which saw him win the African Player Award in 1997, and his position as a role model for Nigerian youth.
"We are pleased with Ikpeba as our face and we believe he will continue to be," said Ojuroye, who disclosed that Bet9ja already had an asset base of over N500million.
"Because of the nature of Lagos as epicenter of commercial activity in Nigeria, we have resolved to kick start this programme here and then spread it to other states soon."
Ikpeba told the National Mirror he plans to make the most of the opportunity.
"I was convinced by the professionalism, integrity and ambition of the company before accepting the honour of being an ambassador and I hope to do my best to bring my experience as a former player to bear on this assignment," he said.
